The more I think of it, the more I think it must be Razen, next. It would almost be an insult to pass over it a second time, and if House Atsir will not accept the embrace of our Holy Mothers, it is all the more important to be sure the Queen acknowledges Their power ... and ours. Mother will know all of this far better than I, I'm sure.

It is not only the Queen that awaits us, there. Joseph will be there, for one ... with any luck, I can avoid him. Surely he'll be so busy with his duties on the Council. ... James will be there, and ... Dairanne.

She worries me most.

She is my sister, but our parents are gone. We have our own mothers, now. I do not know if she has even converted to the worship of the Holy Three, and if she has not ... I cannot associate with her. It cannot be known. She will want to see me, though. She's always been so sentimental. I ... am not sure how I will handle that, when the time comes.

I care for her. She is my sister. But ... I don't care enough to risk all that I have now for the sake of sentimentality.

We've always been so different, that way.
