Shadda won't be coming to the grand ball.

We had a monstrous, ridiculous fight that had probably been due to happen for months, and she actually decided she would rather go back to the Cleraine cathedral than attend a grand ball with or without me, which should give you some indication of how thoroughly unpleasant all of this was and why I don't really wish to talk about it in great detail.

So now you know.

I can't be certain if Raezi said anything to you or not, so I apologize if this is redundant information, but -- Shadda and I have recently called things off. In fact, she's left Razen entirely, which ought to give you some indication of how thorough and permanent this split actually is.

Which has left me with a bit of a problem in regards to Friday's event.

So, I realize this is terribly short notice -- and strange, but if Aes can get away with proposing on the journals, then I think I should be allowed this much!

Would you like to accompany me to the grand ball, Felizia?

All right. I asked! And -- the good news is that she said yes! And I asked her through the journals specifically so if she laughed I wouldn't know. So. There's that.

The bad news is that I think she may have only agreed to annoy the Karnachs, but ... well, a yes is a yes. Right?
